Kira's Reason--A Love Story Movie Review 2001

Uneven depiction of mental illness and a marriage in crisis. Thirtysomethings Kira (Stenegade) and Mads (Mikkelsen) have a seemingly comfortable life with a happy marriage and kids--until Kira has a breakdown and is committed to an institution. Even after returning to her family, Kira's behavior is erratic, disruptive, and sometimes publicly humiliating. Mads continues to stand by his troubled wife but though their love survives, can their lives together? Danish with subtitles.
