Janice Beard Movie Review 1999

Eccentric comedy about a social misfit that's overwhelmed by whimsey. Janice (Walsh) moves from her Scottish town to London in hopes of making enough money to help her agoraphobic mother Mimi (Voe). Living in her own fantasy world (she videotapes letters to her mother that are mostly fabrications of how swell things are going), Janice gets a temp job at a car manufacturing company and gets unwittingly involved in corporate espionage with sneaky office assistant Sean (Ifans). Walsh is endearing but the office antics get tedious.
