Teachers don't get more dedicated than Arthur Chipping (Clunes), the Latin master at the cloistered Brookfield boys' boarding school. Shy, gruff, and somewhat eccentric, Chips' life is transformed when he meets unconventional Kathie (Hamilton) and they marry. Her devotion transforms his nature until tragedy strikes. Covers some 50 years from the late 1870s to the 1920s. Based on the novel by James Hilton.
