Undefeated Movie Review 2003

Leguizamo stars and makes his directorial debut in this too-familiar boxing tale. Lex Vargas (Leguizamo) is a tough amateur boxer from Queens who comes under the tutelage of Victor (Serrano). Victor believes in a slow and steady rise but manager Mack (Miller) and promoter Scott Green (Forster) offer up a more enticing proposal. And then Vargas falls for Mack's girlfriend Lizette (Ferlito), who's stringing both men along. As Vargas climbs the boxing ladder, it's suggested that maybe he should take a dive with next opponent, Beveaqua (De Los Reyes), in order to get a bigger payday down the road. Leguizamo broods effectively.
