The Journey to Kafiristan Movie Review 2001

In 1939, Zurich writer Annemarie Schwarzenbach (Hain) and Geneva ethnologist Ella Maillart (Petri) drive from Switzerland to a remote valley in Afghanistan. Ella's on a scientific expedition but Annemarie, just out of a drug rehab clinic, is out to test her emotional and sexual limits. Based on a true story. German with subtitles.
