Christensen loses the Jedi robes to take on a character lured by a less-mystical dark side. Wunderkind Stephen Glass, a young New Republic journalist, is found to have fabricated 27 of the 41 articles he'd published. He also goes to great lengths to give truth to the lies, falsifying phone numbers, creating a bogus website, keeping fake notes. First-time director Ray was in close council with the principals involved in the true tale and does a fabulous job keeping the depiction believable. Background as to what drove him to it is all that's missing in this journalist suspense story.
