Satire on Canadian filmmaking when the government offered tax incentives for films made in Canada. Novice film producer Bobby Meyers (Modine) is trying to raise money to film a classic Canadian novel. But he needs a name actor and winds up with gun-toting paranoid Michael (Bates). Things just get worse--he's stuck with oversexed actress Gillian (Tilly), and numerous script changes turn Bobby's vision into something unrecognizable. And all the while his trials are being documented by director Sandy (Unger).
