Gerry Movie Review 2002

Even for Van Sant, this is a bizarro film with a number of obscure (and-not-so-obscure) influences. Two young men, both named Gerry (Damon, Affleck), are driving along a desert highway when they decide to get out of the car and hike along a wilderness trail. They get lost and start wandering around. They have no food or water and, after a couple of days, start to hallucinate, eventually the Affleck Gerry can't go on (but the film does). Something to make you go hmmmmmm. Or maybe, what were they thinking?!
