In the late 1960s, Barry Ryan (Brown) is a Sydney crime boss who rules the slot machine trade. Having the local police chief (Neill) in his pocket is a help and Barry's Vietnam vet nephew Darcy (Worthington) is just joining the business, but Barry does have some personal trouble with his tough wife Sharon (Collette) and young mistress Margaret (Morassi). Then, a couple of Chicago wiseguys show up: down-to-earth Tony (Goodman) and his hot-headed colleague Sal (Williamson) have been instructed to muscle in on Barry's turf, but Barry is not about to let these interlopers interfere with his business. A bold combination of charm, comedy, and violence.
