Teen psycho-drama offers cheap thrills. A terrified Liz (Birch) is discovered to be the only survivor of four students who have been missing for 18 days. Liz talks to psychologist Philippa Horwood (Davidtz) as flashbacks reveal the nightmare. Liz has a crush on Mike (Harrington), which she revealed to confidante Martin (Brocklebank), who has an unrequited crush on her. Seeking to escape a school trip, Liz persuades Martin to let her and Mike and their friends Geoff (Fox) and Frankie (Knightley) spend the time in a disused WWII underground steel bunker he's discovered. Only jealous Martin locks them in. Or does he? Liz's story is full of holes and the police investigation offers another theory of what happened. Based on the novel "After the Hole" by Guy Burt.
