Culkin impressively crosses over into on-screen adulthood, starring as Michael Alig, the real-life club kid turned murderer. Alig, a misunderstood kid from Indiana, travels to the Big Apple where he quickly finds his niche in the decadent and flamboyant club scene of NYC circa 1990s. There, he hooks up with mentor James St. James (Green), also a former Midwesterner, who teaches him the ropes. Alig quickly surpasses his master, becoming a celebrated party promoter at the famed disco Limelight. As Michael spirals out of control both in his addictions and emotionally, St. James, as his best friend, attempts to intervene to little avail. Green provides superb support to Culkin's lead. Based on the book "Disco Bloodbath" by St. James.
