Spade plays the impish title character, a valet parking attendant who wishes to revive his former child-star sitcom fame. Without much help from his despondent agent (a dead-on Lovitz), Dickie scores a meeting with Rob Reiner (as himself!) who's casting the lead in his new movie. When Dickie loses the role due to a lack of real character, he hires a family to relive his lost youth and help him get a real life. Pic is at its crackling best when Spade is his usual, smarmy self, but suffers when trying for earnestness. Amusing cameos by the likes of Leif Garrett, Danny Bonaduce, and Corey Feldman, and the final credits include a fun and rousing anthem sung by a gaggle of former child stars.
