Watch it for Bates's performance because otherwise there's not much here (or maybe there's too much going on). Chicago housewife Grace Beasley (Bates) is abruptly dumped by hubby Max (Aykroyd) who needs his space. Meanwhile, a Chicago serial killer has just offed closeted lounge singer Victor Fox (Pryce), leaving his in-the-shadows lover Dirk (Everett) to battle with Victor's sister Nola (Redgrave) over his estate. Fan Grace meets Dirk at Victor's funeral, they bond, and decide to hunt for Victor's killer together. Hey, it's one way to deal with unresolved feelings.
