A moldy oldie. James Kirkwood's 1975 off-Broadway play was based on his 1972 novel and its attitudes towards gays appear quaint at best if not outright insulting. Jimmy Zoole (Guttenberg) is a failed actor/writer with a dead cat and a girlfriend, Kate (Watros), who's just dumped him. This leaves Jimmy alone in his L.A. apartment on New Year's Eve. Except for gay burglar Eddie (Boyar), who has the misfortune to be caught by a distraught Jimmy, who takes his gun and ties the man face down on a kitchen counter. Eddie proceeds to taunt Jimmy about his manhood, various humiliating things happen, and somehow male bonding occurs.
