La Reina del Barrio Movie Review 2001

Murgas are a group of 18 to 20 men from a barrio that perform song, drama, and comedies satirizing key events of the year, at the 40-day Carnival in Montevideo, Uruguay. This film explores the sociopolitical relationships of each group of performers.
