Snow in August Movie Review 2001

In the summer of 1947, young Michael Devlin's (Tambakis) friendship with immigrant Czech Rabbi Hirsch (Rea) brings on the wrath of the local Irish street gang. Michael witnesses the beating of a Jewish shopkeeper, loses his friends, and decides to turn to an ancient Jewish text to summon the protection of a Golem. Based on the novel by Pete Hamill.
