Worthy remake of the 1976 Disney original breathes some life into the body-switch genre. Curtis plays Tess, a widowed psychiatrist and mom to rebellious 15-year-old Anna (Lohan). Anna's upset that her mom is about to remarry. Following a fight over said wedding at a Chinese restaurant, mom and daughter are hexed by a cursed fortune cookie and wake up the next day in each other's bodies. After the initial shock wears off, the talented leads seem right at home in the other's role, resulting in more laughs than you'd expect from a Disney remake. Curtis is especially fun to watch, successfully tapping into her inner teen and kicking out the jams in Anna's garage band. Light comedy deftly blends with morality in fun family comedy.
