Hondo (Jackson) is the leader of the elite LAPD Special Weapons and Tactics unit. He and his crew have to guard captured drug lord Alex (Martinez) and move him into federal custody. Only Alex has an open offer of $100 mil to anyone who can free him. Above-average big screen version of the mid-seventies TV series provides the correct summer blockbuster mix of action, stunts, and humor, with just enough character development to make you care about the outcome, but not so much that you get bored.
