High schooler Halley (Moore) decides love is a crock when she hits some speed bumps on the road of life. Her parents split when DJ dad Len (Gallagher) has a midlife crisis and romances a younger woman. Bitter mom Lydia (Janney) copes by getting involved with the wedding plans of older daughter Ashley (Garrison), whose fiance (Astin) seems dominated by his wealthy parents. Then Halley's best friend Scarlett (Holden) finds out she's preggers after her boyfriend is killed in an accident. So Halley is none too receptive to romance when sensitive hunk Macon (Ford) comes around. Adapted from the young adult novels "Someone Like You" and "That Summer" by Sarah Dessen.
