Laid-off coworkers (Murphy, Garlin) become stay-at-home dads and caregivers and come up with the idea of opening their own unconventional day-care center. This puts them in direct competition with the director (Huston) of the expensive Chapman Academy. The new Murphy's Law seems to be that for every success, he'll have four disasters. This one is definitely one of the latter, as even in his usually-successful family-friendly mode, he merely mugs amid the chaos. The script is ridiculous and unfunny, and the talented adult cast is wasted as foils for the ankle-biter inmates running the asylum. Sure they're cute, but it shouldn't be their job to carry an Eddie Murphy vehicle. Pre-school set may be amused by the antics of their on-screen peers, but their parents won't enjoy anything but the 93 minutes of quiet while their progeny zone out.
