Cute Daniel Chang (Wong) is a Chinese-American guy living with his tradition-bound mother (Lee) in San Francisco. She wants grandchildren and keeps introducing her son to suitable Chinese girls. Daniel is keeping secret the fact that he's gay--until mom rents out the basement flat to new-to-the-city Robert (Marks). Daniel's attracted and if Robert reciprocates, Mother Chang is in for a big surprise. Sweet story if unevenly told.
