Samuel Berg (von Sydow) has survived the Nazi death camps and believes that he not only possesses good luck but runs a remote Spanish casino where the patrons bet their good luck against his own in a version of Russian roulette. When Sam steals the luck of his one-time confidante (and earthquake survivor) Federico (Poncela), the man goes looking for a protege to pit against his former boss and eventually finds Tomas (Sbaraglia), the only person to survive a plane crash. But Tomas is also a bank robber trailed by police officer Sara (Lopez), who survived a car crash. So luck gets pitted against luck--winner takes all. English and Spanish with subtitles.
