Divided into three sections, with the characters seen from different perspectives. We start out with the funeral of Stuart, a local restauranteur with his partner, Nick (Hollander). Stuart died without a will so his sister (Haddington) becomes his unexpected heir and has to decide whether to share with Nick or not. Meanwhile, her husband, Dan (Nighy), thinking life has passed him by, is having a flirtation with florist, Corinne (Celarie). Nick is also having some unexpected feelings towards Charlie (Smith), a fun-loving party girl who helps with the loneliness (and more). Finally, there's Tim (Henshall) a feckless boyhood chum of Stuart's who's just returned home and who suddenly falls in love with shop owner Leah (Butler).
