Unhappy divorced tabloid reporter Liam Marple (Green) writes a gossip column under the nom de plume "Mrs. Jones." He knows nothing about politics but his ex-wife Jane (Hawes), who's also his boss, wants dirt on female prime minister Laura Bowden (Goodall), who is in the middle of an election campaign. Liam manages to worm his way into Laura's confidence (naturally, she doesn't know who he really is) but he finds himself with unwanted pangs of conscience when they unexpectedly fall in love.
