Things Behind the Sun Movie Review 2001

Writer/director Anders partially takes on her own traumatic past to tell a story of rape and its long aftermath. Troubled singer-songwriter Sherry McGrale (Dickens) has a radio hit with a song about being raped as a girl in her Florida hometown. Music reporter Owen (Mann) gets the assignment to interview Sherry after revealing that he and Sherry were friends in school and he knows who raped her. When Owen finally meets Sherry again, the circumstances of the past are revealed to them both.
