Depicts the trauma of two young children as they struggle to survive in the Warsaw Ghetto after their parents are arrested and "resettled." They are eventually helped by the Polish underground and immigrated to New York after the war to live with their uncle. An astonishingly accurate portrayal of Jewish children in Nazi Germany. Recommended for use with grades 4 to 8.
