No News from God Movie Review 2001

Angel Lola (Abril) is a nightclub singer in heaven who is sent by her boss Marina (Ardant) to Earth to save the soul of boxer Many (Bechir). But when Jack (Garcia Bernal), Marina's counterpart in hell, hears the news, he sents devil waitress Carmen (Cruz) to do the deed first. To Many, Lola appears to be his ex, while Carmen is a cousin. Naturally, Lola tries to get Many to be good and Carmen wants him to be bad--and Many is well on his way to the latter. Starts out offbeat but then goes conventional. Spanish, French, and English dialogue.
