Lightweight caper flick loosely based on the life of Irish thief Martin Cahill was shot in 1998 but only recently received limited runs abroad. Spacey is Michael Lynch, a self-styled blue collar criminal who enjoys high-profile heists and making the local cops look bad. When he steals a Caravaggio painting worth $45 million, he gets caught up with the IRA and an obsessive cop (Dillane) bent on catching him. Passes the time pleasantly enough, with a jovial performance by Spacey, but John Boorman's "The General" tells this story better.
