"A man's character is his fate." This statement is eminently displayed through events both past and present of a prep school teacher (Klein) and one of his more challenging students (Hirsch). Ethics are questioned, schools of thought examined and hearts changed in this "Dead Poet Society" type drama. Hoffman's development of Ethan Canin's book "The Palace Thief" is unfortunately accomplished through manipulation and fake sincerity.
