Responsibility and midlife crisis and romantic complications. Carlo (Accorsi) is living with his longtime girlfriend Guilia (Mezzogiorno), who tells him she's pregnant. This throws him into a tizzy since he doesn't really want to be a grown-up. Carlo's fading beauty mother, Anna (Sandrelli), also reacts badly to the news since she doesn't want to be a grandma; she abruptly decides to leave her boring hubby for some new romantic possibilities. Both mother and son use their angst to justify affairs as they try to figure out what they really want from their lives. A generally sophisticated melodrama that doesn't take itself too seriously. Italian with subtitles.
