Manhattanites George (Weber), Kim (Clarkson), and their eight-year-old son Miles (Sullivan) are heading out of the city for a weekend at a friend's farmhouse in upstate New York. Distracted George hits a deer, which enrages backwoods hunter Otis (Speredakos) who was trailing the buck. Quiet Miles notices the tension between his parents but weird things really begin to happen when a mysterious man gives Miles a Wendigo figure, a creature in Native American mythology that has destructive powers, which Miles now seems to command.
