Seymour (Adams) is a gay Native American who has left the reservation, gone to college, and now uses his heritage to achieve literary fame as a poet. He hasn't been back to the rez in years but returns for the funeral of onetime friend Mouse (Kanim). Seymour's return is awkward as it triggers the frustrated resentment of another boyhood pal Aristotle (Tagaban) as well as a confrontation with his college girlfriend Agnes (St. John) who is now Aristotle's lover.
