Stuey Walters (Weber) is an unhappy talent agent, working for his hard-driving, abrasive father Willie (Alda) in the 1950s. When their biggest client, comic Lou Montana (Garrett) fires Willie, Stuey doesn't know how to break it to his old man that he doesn't want to continue in the business.
