Documentary on the history of skateboarding, which came out of slum sections of Santa Monica and Venice known as Dogtown in the mid-'70s. Many were surfers, looking for something to do between waves, who joined the Zephyr Skating Team (the Z-Boys) named after a popular surf shop/hangout. Footage of competitions at the time and interviews with the now middleaged participants are included.
