The Directors: Roger Corman Movie Review 2001

Fast, cheap, and in control might well serve as the motto for Hollywood's wily independent king, producer/writer/director (and talent-spotter) extraordinaire Roger Corman, who has hundreds of films on his credit list. Though he's not known for his artistic touch, Corman is witty, well-spoken, and a truly savvy businessman. Though this documentary tactfully omits mention of his later, uglier output--sexually violent video garbage--so much of Corman's output is lively, fun, or least notable for who was in it or behind the camera. A must for aspiring filmmakers.
