Walter (Larroquette) and his 12-year-old son Henry (Braun) live in a trailer in Brooklyn and (barely) make ends meet as street musicians in the city. However, after Walter has a psychotic breakdown and is institutionalized, Henry is forced to live with his rigid grandfather (Coburn) from whom Walter has been estranged for years. And slowly, Henry begins to adapt, and even enjoy, his new life.
