On the Edge Movie Review 2000

Troubled 19-year-old Jonathan Breech (Murphy) deals with his depression over his father's death by stealing a car and driving it over a cliff. Surviving with very minor injuries, Jonathan is faced with prison or spending time in a mental institution. He chooses the latter, where he meets his caring therapist, Dr. Figure (Rea), and some fellow patients to bond with--Rachel (Vessey) and Toby (Jackson). Much teen angst is explored before the resolution and the material may not be fresh but it is heartfelt.
