Not much of a triumph but not a complete waste of time either. Adapted from Pierre Marivaux's 18th-century play, Sorvino plays Princess Leonide, who knows that her family usurped their throne and she is determined to see its rightful owner, Prince Agis (Rodan), returned to power. Of course, he's a handsome prince and the princess has fallen in love but there are complications that involve her disguising herself as a male philosophy student and insinuating herself into his guardians' (Kingsley, Shaw) austere lives. Deceptions abound.
