Well-done, realistic miniseries depicts the Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943, when Polish Jews, facing deportation to death camps, held off the Nazis for a month using guerilla tactics. Solid script, which avoids melodrama and over-sentimentality, leaves room to show the politics and motivations involved between the people who wanted to negotiate with the Nazis, those who collaborated for self-preservation, and the fighters. Though the whole cast is up to the task, Sobieski's performance stands out, and Schwimmer makes a better showing here than he did in "Band of Brothers."
