Director John Stockwell brings back the beach/surfing genre with a story about board riding women who would kick Gidget's narrow behind. Surfer girl Anne Marie (Bosworth) moves to Hawaii, determined to win the traditionally all-male Rip Masters competition. Aided by fellow surfers Eden (Rodriguez) and Lena (Lake), she tries to mentally recover from a near-fatal accident in time for the meet. Unfortunately, the distraction of new boyfriend Matt (Davis) may cause her dreams to wipe out. Both the ripped bodies and the surfing action seem a little enhanced by science, but both are very visually stimulating.
