Excellent bio of Fidel Castro's rise to power in Cuba loses a little steam in its later moments but keeps interest with a strong performance by Martin in the title role. The politics are also kept simple; Castro is an idealistic lawyer who fights for the underdog as a rebel leader after his country's military takeover by Batista (Plana). But once he himself takes power, Castro blurs the lines into a dictatorship of his own. Based on the books "Guerilla Prince" by Georgie Anne Geyer and "Fidel Castro" by Robert E. Quirk.
