Rymer worked from an outline rather than a complete script and had his actors improvise this satire on the fashion world but the film fumbles on fuzzy plots and characters. English photog Anthony (Harris) deals with professional and personal crises; gay fashion mogul Lorenzo (Sorvino) learns he has terminal cancer and draws closer to his family and lover; magazine editor Janice (Baron) is suddenly confronted by the daughter (Williams) she hasn't seen in years; and various designers (Epps, Wilson, Mann) have various problems.
