Ensemble comedy by the brothers Russo is a remake of the 1958 Italian classic, "Big Deal on Madonna Street." Collinwood is home to a group of hopelessly inept, dim wanna-be criminals. The dubious crew consists of single father Riley (Macy), Leon (Washington), Toto (Jeter), Pero (Rockwell) and Basil (Davoli). Broad character bits are highlighted by the always brilliant Macy and an amusing Rockwell. Producer Clooney provides a highlight as a wheelchair-bound safe cracker. A little too over-the-top, but accurately cops original's hilarious comic climax as the boys break down a wall to get at the safe.
