Revenge fantasy that's been compared to both "Sleeping with the Enemy" (Julia Roberts) and "Double Jeopardy" (Ashley Judd). Working-class waitress Slim (Lopez) marries wealthy contractor Mitch (Campbell) and for a while everything appears perfect. But Mitch turns out to be an abusive, cheating, control freak who forces Slim to take their daughter and run. When Mitch finds and threatens her, Slim decides to literally toughen up and give Mitch a taste of his own medicine. Okay, it's nice to see Lopez kick butt but this movie has a very nasty taste and some lame advice for battered women (who probably won't discover that their biological fathers are filthy rich and can help them out financially).
