Gooding leads this kid flick as Ted Brooks, a dentist who only finds out about his adoption after his biological mom's death in Alaska. Aside from a rather dilapidated house, mom's estate included a team of frisky Siberian husky sled dogs. Displaced city boy Ted, who's from Miami, hates the cold and the dogs but stays to take care of the estate, seek out his real father, and get better acquainted with friendly local bar owner Barb (Bacalso). Meanwhile, the grizzled Thunder Jack (Coburn) is on Ted's tail, trying to get him to sell the dogs. The expected Iditarod-type dog race ensues. Gooding mugs amiably and the good natured physical humor and action should amuse the young and undiscrimination.
