Information and Film Reviews for New York in the Fifties the Movie

Visitor rating
4.0 from 0 reviews

Modest little documentary based on Dan Wakefield's book. He and several other people who were involved in the New York literary/artistic scene of the 1950s reminisce about those halcyon days. Subjects include Robert Redford, Joan Didion, John Gregory Dunne, Nat Hentoff, Nan and Gay Talese, Calvin Trillin, and William F. Buckley. Film clips of Jack Kerouac, Steve Allen, and Stormin' Norman Mailer enliven the relatively static action.
