Heartfelt documentary tells the story of the Japanese-Americans who fought in the 442 Division. These were young men who were sent to "assembly centers" and "pioneer communities" (as our government called the concentration camps where Americans of Japanese descent were sent in 1942) and then volunteered to fight. The filmmakers use the same techniques seen in the HBO series "Band of Brothers," combining contemporary (late 1990s) interviews with the surviving veterans and archival footage of their combat action.
