American Pimp Movie Review 1999

The Hughes brothers take a break from conventional features ("Menace 2 Society," "From Hell") to spin out a modest documentary about pimps. They combine interview footage with film clips to let the likes of Rosebudd, C-Note, and Gorgeous Dre tell their own stories. Those already interested in the subject may find it fascinating. Others will see it as all flash and no style.
