Following in the footsteps of "Cool as Ice" and "Spice World," this may be the third in the pop star "why was this allowed to happen?" trilogy. Mariah Carey, showing her acting range of two emotions ("Yay!" and "Huh?"), stars as Billie Frank, a backup singer who climbs to stardom with the help from her svengali boyfriend Dice (Beesley). Together they struggle through the hard times and the wooden dialogue. Will success and the crappy plot stolen from "A Star is Born" tear them apart? You'll be wishing that wild dogs will tear them apart before the end of this mess. So bad it's nearly unintentionally funny. The key word is nearly.
