Remember when ex-SNL cast members made good movies? Yeah, neither do they. Kattan is the title character--a spastic, twitchy veterinary assistant, estranged from his mob family, who's so naive, he thinks his Pops (Falk) is actually a landscaping mogul. He is talked into infiltrating the FBI to retrieve evidence against the family by gruff henchman Leo (Ward), the actual stool pigeon talking to the feds. His frantic bumbling is mistaken for genius by his FBI superior Schuster (Roundtree) and hottie special agent Kate (Shaw). The plot is just dressing for Kattan's "funny-looking rubbery guy knocks everything over" routine, and he plays it like Jerry Lewis without the subtlety. First "Night at the Roxbury," then "Monkeybone" and now this? Can someone get Kattan a script consultant? Please?
